Seasonal Celebrations

Harvest Festival

Every September, we throw open our doors to the public to come enjoy a harvest fair, complete with children’s games, music, entertainment, silent auction and street fair. This event is a fundraiser for the House and all proceeds go to put on our community-focused programs and activities. We gratefully accept in-kind or other donations to help us put on the event and we always welcome volunteers to help out on the big day. We also encourage local performers, artists, crafters and farmers to participate in our street fair.

Christmas Around the World

Each mid-December, we host a two-evening celebration of the season with a sit-down dinner, entertainment, a singalong and special visitors. The Christmas and seasonal celebrations of all our neighbours are highlighted and staff and House participants, as well as members of the local community, get together to mark a new season. In-kind donations for the event, and performers who wish to help out, as well as volunteers, are most welcome.

Christmas Hampers

This Christmas we will be collecting donations of canned and packaged food for needy families and we also invite donations of food vouchers or gift certificates for groceries. Please leave donations of this type at our Front Desk. We are no longer accepting other types of donations for the hampers.
