At Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House, we have been making Mount Pleasant a better place to live for over three decades. We believe in our neighbourhood and in the ability and the right of its members to enhance their lives. Working together we are a stronger, healthier neighbourhood.

Elder Wellness Day

When: Saturday March 4th, 10:00am - 3:00pm
Come celebrate Elders Wellness day at MPNH on March 4th. Celebrate, connect, and enjoy wellness in a collective, cultural and community way! Volunteer Training

When: March 3 & 10, 12:00pm - 5:00pm
The Vancouver area Better at Home program is hosting the Vancouver Better at Home Caring Summit, an intensive two day training for all current and newly interested volunteers.  Lunch, childcare and transportation is included.  Topics include Supporting Seniors at Home,

Second Beat

When: February 25, 7:00pm - 10:00pm
Vancouver has been described as a lonely place for young people. Second Beat addresses this sense of social isolation by creating a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive space for young people to connect with one another through performance-based art. Operating like an open-mic night, this program is open to young people, aged 19 – 30, all backgrounds welcome! Every last Saturday of the month from 7pm – 10pm.
 
 

Affordable Housing

When: February 18, 11:00am
Join panel speakers Kent Patenaude, President of LUMA Native Housing Society, Jim O'Dea, Affordable Housing Specialist, and representatives of Co-op Housing Federation of BC on Feb 18th at 11:00am for a discussion on affordable housing. The protection, safety and security of families depends firstly on finding a home and knowing where their support networks are. Please attend to share your experience and knowledge on this important issue we need to address.
 

Family Friendly Folk Music

When: February 25, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
It has been great to sing together and hear a variety of musical contributions at our recently-established musical gathering for all ages.This is a quick reminder that we’ll be gathering again on the last Saturday of the month for some ‘Family-Friendly Folk Music’. Come to sing! Come to listen! Come to play! Free to MPNH and Vancouver Folk Song Society members: others by donation. Snacks provided.

Fun Youth Leadership!

This cycle of FYL, we are focusing on media and the arts. You will have access to a Media Mentor with film and photography experience who will guide you in making your art and teaching you photography, filming, audio and editing skills.  Check out the poster for more information and all the upcoming topic dates!

Pre-Employment & Settlement Support

The Pre-employment and Settlement Support Program is open to those who are not eligible for WorkBC Services. This program is to help participants with their employment needs, including resume, cover letter, interview techniques and other employment related

Family Finances for Newcomer Women

A FREE program to support newcomer women with children to build their financial management skills, to learn more about budgeting, banking, credit and consumerism, etc. Program starts every Tuesday, February 28 to March 21, 2017, 12:30pm to 2:30pm at MPNH. Childminding is available. Registration is required.
 

One-to-One Financial Coaching

A FREE program to provide one to one financial mentorship to help people review their finances and guide them through the Canadian financial system. Everyone welcome. Financial Coaching appointment is available every Wednesday, from 1:00pm to 3:pm at MPNH. Registration is required.
