Civic Literacy with Guests Seth Klein and Paul Hendren

Midtown Service Providers Network (MSPN) Launch

Two presenters will lead discussions on civic engagement

Seth Klein, Director, BC Office, Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives will present “The case for proportional representation”. He’ll discuss the problems with our current electoral system, how Proportional Rep can fix those problems, explain what will be on the ballot in the referendum in November and how community organizations can get the information out.

Paul Hendren, Election Outreach Lead , City of Vancouver will provide us with information about the Vancouver election taking place this October. He will provide information about voting in the election including services provided by the City of Vancouver, the responsibilities of elected officials, and how to prepare you and your participants to cast ballots.

Also, be prepared to share information about an event/activity/program that is coming up at your organization.

Light refreshments will be provided.
