Next Monday, June 15, Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House is excited to take part in World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) 2020.

This is the fifth year we have been a part of this event, and even though this year will look a little different, it is no less important.

Our seniors and elders are especially vulnerable during this time and it is essential that we stand together against elder abuse in all of its forms.

From financial abuse to emotional to physical – we want our community to know that we all play a crucial role in prevention.

How can you get involved?

Wear purple and join us as we ‘Grow together and stand together!’

This year we will have a team of youth and community members dropping off purple flowers and small care packages to seniors in our community!

Watch for us in your neighbourhood between 12-3 p.m. We are still looking for volunteers to help with these deliveries.

Interested in getting involved? Please contact:
Claudine Matlo, Director of Community Programs at 604-418-5103.
