Kids like Bronte and Izak need a safe outdoor space to play! We’re building a parklet outside our House so we can help them learn and grow together.

It’s almost here! The parklet outside Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House is all set to be built this weekend on July 20-22. We’re so excited to be able to provide our neighbours with a safe and comfortable spot to rest and play. We now need your support to build and animate this parklet—an accessible front porch for our whole neighbourhood.

Intergenerational Day: Volunteering and connections through The Little Give project

The impact of creating and maintaining connections across generations is a powerful tool in developing and strengthening healthy communities. Intergenerational Day takes place every year on the first of June. At our House, we were lucky this year to have extra support on this day with the Pleasant Ponies volunteer team from Edelman Canada. This communications and marketing agency supports its staff in volunteering each year through their social responsibility program, The Little Give. On Intergenerational Day, these dedicated volunteers came to our House ready for a full day of engagement through volunteering.

How to save a life: Front line stories and overdose prevention

More than 50 people gathered at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House on October 11 to hear first-hand accounts from five storytellers whose lives are deeply touched by the fentanyl overdose crisis. This event marked the first in a series of six dialogues and overdose prevention trainings at neighbourhood houses around the city, in partnership with Megaphone Magazine and CBC Vancouver.
