Last Saturday, April 18, 2026, we honoured our dedicated volunteers at our Volunteer Appreciation Party at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House. This year’s theme, Ignite Volunteerism, celebrates a year-long, nation-building commitment to giving back and strengthening our communities.

In this video, Millie shares her own journey as a newcomer to Canada and reflects on the joy and meaning she finds in supporting Spanish-speaking newcomer women as they build the best life possible in their new home.

Another lovely Family Food Preservation class with Jessica at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House brought adults and kids together to pickle turnips, share beet salad, and collaborate. Participants felt productive, calm, and motivated, valuing community, and eagerly anticipating the jam-making class.
