MPNH PRIDE Parade, BBQ, and LIVE!

🌈 After months of planning and preparation, PRIDE Day finally arrived, and what a joyful celebration it was at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House! We were thrilled to welcome our community to a day filled with love, colour, and connection.

✨ The festivities began with our mini PRIDE Parade, where MPNH children and staff, dressed in vibrant colours and radiant smiles, marched proudly around the block. Children waved their colourful streamers, showed off rainbow temporary tattoos, and sang as we celebrated together in unity and joy.

💐 We were deeply honoured to receive a beautiful and meaningful blessing from Travis Angus (Two-Spirit from Nisg̱a’a Nation) and Al Houston (Two-Spirit Ojibwe Cree), who opened our event with warmth and spirit.

🌭 Alongside hot dogs fresh off the grill, guests enjoyed popcorn, cotton candy, face painting, and great company. Local vendors showcased their beautiful crafts and small businesses, sparking conversations and building connections within our neighbourhood.

🎤 Our PRIDE Live Performances brought the stage to life with wisdom, humour, and heart, turning the day into a lively, welcoming space where neighbours could relax, enjoy, and celebrate together.

💖 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate PRIDE with us, especially in support of Rainbow Refugee! We're proud to share that 100% of proceeds and donations will be going directly to Rainbow Refugee, reflecting our shared commitment to building a safe, just, and inclusive world for all, especially those from marginalized communities. 🌈

We’re also especially grateful to the incredible individuals and organizations who made the day so memorable:

🙏 And last but certainly not least, thank you to our dedicated staff and volunteers, from set-up to clean-up, from handing out food to making sure every guest felt welcome, your hard work and care made this day shine. This celebration wouldn’t have been possible without you.

🌈 Thank you again for sharing PRIDE with us. See you next year!
