Meet an MPNH PRIDE Storyteller, Marylee!
Marylee is a story-teller and standup comic who proudly shares the ups, downs, fun, and tears of being a lesbian. She’s volunteered for many seniors and youth programs, and is a long-time supporter of the work of Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House.
Our House is Your House
We began serving the community in 1976 with a youth leadership program that we ran from the basement of a local church, and added our second program, free income tax clinics, from a mobile trailer in 1977. Later that year, we moved to our first storefront building in the 500 block of East Broadway.
There’s an app for that: Vancouver program brings groceries to seniors’ doorstep
In rainy Vancouver, venturing outside for groceries is often a daunting task, especially for people without access to a car, such as many seniors. An app developed by nurse Ian Li is helping seniors order groceries for free delivery by connecting them with local volunteers.
