What do I do in my role as a volunteer?

As a volunteer at MPNH, I help with a variety of events and activities I support wherever help is needed including decorating for special events, assisting in the kitchen, helping with community programs, and setting up and cleaning up events I enjoy being flexible and helping make each event welcoming and successful.

When did you begin volunteering at MPNH?

I began volunteering at MPNH in 2022 and since then I’ve been involved in many different events and programs.

Why do you volunteer?

I volunteer because I enjoy giving back to the community and helping others MPNH is a welcoming place and volunteering allows me to connect with people, learn new skills, and make a positive difference while being part of a supportive community.

Can you share a story or instance where you felt you made an impact?

One moment that stood out to me was helping decorate the front of MPNH for the holiday market. Seeing how the decorations helped create a warm and festive atmosphere for everyone made me feel proud and happy to contribute. Working together as a team made the experience even more meaningful.

Your favorite memory at MPNH?

My favourite memory at MPNH is working in the kitchen during the pancake breakfast. It was busy but fun, and it felt great to see people enjoying the food and the event. The teamwork and positive energy made it a really special experience.

Ever since Mama began participating in our Youth Programs at MPNH, I have witnessed her remarkable growth into a confident and compassionate individual. When she first joined, she was very shy and quiet, but as she became more comfortable in her new environment, her kindness and generosity truly began to shine. Mama has consistently volunteered her time to support our programs and events, and she has shown a special enthusiasm for helping in the kitchen. I am confident that Mama has a bright future ahead, and we are deeply grateful for the many ways she has supported and contributed to our community.
