Side by Side in the Kitchen: Family Food Preservation with Jessica Wismer
Another really lovely Family Food Preservation class with Jessica at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House last week.
Both adults and younger ones spent time together making pickled turnips to take home and a beet salad to share. It was great to see everyone pitching in and working side by side. Everyone partnered up, helping each other, and enjoying the process together.
People shared how the class made them feel: productive, motivated, and even calmed. A few mentioned they wouldn’t normally do something like this on their own, but being with others made it easier.
One person said, “I need people,” which really summed up the day.
By the end, there was already excitement about what’s next, everyone is looking forward to the jam-making class.
