Volunteer Appreciation Party: Volunteers Make Waves
On Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, we came together to celebrate your hard work, passion, and the positive ripple effect you create in our community. This time, it was our turn to give back. Our staff worked extra hours to make sure that every single volunteer in the room felt the appreciation they deserve, because you’ve given so much of yourselves to us.

Kardias (@kardiasquing), a Filipino/Canadian artist, brings love and mindfulness through honest lyrics delivered by warm vocals to an eclectic mix of collaborative sounds from a variety of producers.
Multicultural Cooking Club: Celebrating Mexican Culture
There were more than 60 participants who enjoyed sharing chicken tinga, agua de jamaica (iced hibiscus tea), and rice pudding at the Multicultural Cooking Club Mexican Culture Celebration.
Meet an MPNH PRIDE Storyteller, Marylee!
Marylee is a story-teller and standup comic who proudly shares the ups, downs, fun, and tears of being a lesbian. She’s volunteered for many seniors and youth programs, and is a long-time supporter of the work of Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House.
Food Hamper Delivery For Seniors
We connected with 109 seniors in Mount Pleasant to share hampers filled with fresh produce. We loved hearing how people will prepare and enjoy the fruit and veggies. Kale chips and strawberry shortcake are on the horizon!
Preschool Children’s Our Dream Neighbourhood Exhibit
Our preschoolers have not only honoured their artistic skills but have also learned valuable lessons about collaboration, empathy, teamwork, creativity, community, and the power of dreaming big. They have shown us that even the smallest among us are capable of creating something truly extraordinary, and always thinking about the people we have around us.
Everyday Nature Gardening Party
Our Everyday Nature Gardening Party was attended by 16 community members who helped plant the flower boxes outside of Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House. While they worked, they shared gardening tips and stories with one another and passersby.
