Multicultural Cooking Club: Celebrating Eid-al-Adha with Community and Culture
On Saturday, July 19th 2025, we celebrated the Muslim festival of Eid-al-Adha with a vibrant, multicultural gathering. The event welcomed around 60 participants and was supported by amazing volunteers from diverse backgrounds—including Iran, Afghanistan, Mexico, Egypt, China, Gambia, and more.

Bannock and Tea: Nourishing Our Bodies, Healing Our Spirits
On Monday, June 30, 2025, we gathered at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House to share homemade bannock with honey butter and jams, along with medicinal tea, mindfully prepared by members of our Indigenous community.

In recognition of July 1st, we, at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House, would like to take a moment to honour this land, share our understanding of the area, and remind ourselves that as settlers we have a responsibility to care for the land and each other. This means centering the voices and perspectives of Indigenous people.
